  • Marita Musante

    PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD

    Marita is family and community minded. She believes our residents need a program that is fiscally sound and will be in existence for the duration of their lifetimes.

    Marita brings a deep knowledge of community outreach to our board. She seeks both recognition and support within the Napa Community.

    Marita’s previous community outreach experience includes Volunteer service in the schools (PTA, GATE, SDC classes, fundraising committees, and others), Board Member then President or Campfire Boys and Girls, Volunteer St. Joseph Hospital Foundation, Vestry at Christ Episcopal Church, Soroptimist International of Humboldt Bay, instructor/coordinator Foster Friday Music and Arts Program, Coach, Fundraising committee member then Chair of Humboldt County Special Olympics.

    Since moving to the Bay Area and joining the faculty of CSMA, Marita has volunteered on the Social Justice Task Force and Curriculum Committee. She currently teaches live and remote classes through the Community School of Music and Art (CSMA) for Morgan Autism Center and AbilityPath.

  • Lisa Hooks

    SECRETARY OF THE BOARD

    Lisa Hooks has worked for the State of California since November 2010.  Lisa serves a Regional Manager for the State Council on Developmental Disabilities (SCDD), an independent state agency established pursuant to the federal Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act.  SCDD’s purpose is to ensure that people with developmental disabilities receive the services and supports they need.  Lisa also serves as a disaster volunteer on the California Department of Social Services Functional Assessment Service Team (FAST) as a trained member that deploys to general population shelters to conduct functional assessments of people with a disability and/or access and functional need (AFN).

    Lisa’s 30-year career in the IDD community began while she was studying for her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology at California State University Northridge.  As a student, Lisa worked as a behavior intervention aide.  Since that time, Lisa’s professional experience includes case management for independent and supported living services and work activity programs; certified administrator for children and adult residential facilities; qualified intellectual disability professional (formerly known as QMRP) for intermediate care facilities; crisis intervention team member; and a disability program navigator at America’s Job Center.  Lisa is a certified training facilitator on various topics including disability overview for law enforcement and Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST), Project Leadership, Sexuality Educator and Trainer, Special Education Law and Advocacy, and Crisis Intervention Team Coordinator. 

    Lisa is a proud parent of four, all of whom also work in IDD related fields including a special education teacher, an ABA therapist, a childcare provider, and a parent of a child who is autistic. 

    Lisa enjoys spending time with her family and friends, thrift shopping, reading romance novels, and listening to live music.

  • Willa McManmon

    BOARD TREASURER

    Willa McManmon-Feaver is Managing Director at investor relations firm The Blueshirt Group. She has been advising technology companies on investor relations for the past 25 years both in-house and at companies including Trimble and Cisco. In her role as a consultant, she has taken more than 25 companies public, with a specialization in SaaS.

    Willa has an undergraduate degree in English Literature from University of Maryland-College Park and an MBA from Santa Clara University. She also sits on the Board of the Boys & Girls Club and FirstBoard.io. Willa lives in Napa with her two teen-age sons, husband and German Shepard mix. She is thrilled to be part of Moving Forward.

  • Dave Pyle

    MEMBER OF THE BOARD AND FOUNDING FAMILY MEMBER

    David Pyle and his wife Susan are founding parents of Moving Forward. David served as Moving Forward’s first board president, and has served in various capacities on the board since its inception.

    David Pyle, DDS, has been a general dentist in Walnut Creek California for 35 years. Before earning his dental degree David served on a medical evacuation team with the Air National Guard and worked as a computer programmer in the aerospace industry in our push to reach the moon.

    He has been married to his wife Susan for 41 years, has 2 adult children and 1 grandchild. In his free time David enjoys being a husband, parent, and grandparent and also enjoys many outdoor leisurely activities like camping, fishing and traveling.

  • Bryan Daniels

    MEMBER OF THE BOARD

    Bryan graduated from Saint Mary’s College with a B.S. in Business Administration. He has more than 40 years of senior management experience and began his entrepreneurial career in college.

    Bryan has since founded multiple businesses, the last of which had a successful IPO. He currently sits on the board of a biotech company based in Texas.

    Bryan enjoys spending time with his two sons in Northern California, where they enjoy golfing, sailing, boating, swimming, waterskiing, and wake surfing.

    His younger son has been a resident at Moving Forward for the past four years. Most recently, Bryan and Kris enjoy traveling the U.S. in their motorhome.

  • Rajkumar Jalan

    MEMBER OF THE BOARD

    Raj Jalan is a seasoned technologist with 30+ years experience with much of this  having been in leadership roles at multiple Bay Area startups. He graduated from IIT Mumbai in India.

     Raj has always had a passion for community service and philanthropy. It is his belief that strengthening communities through social interaction and collaboration is very important for modern day living.

     He has two children both of whom are part of the Moving Forward program. His work on the board enables him to work towards community integration, infrastructure, housing projects and overall well being of the Moving Forward community.

     He enjoys traveling & community service. The well being of residents and staff are key objectives of his day to day activities.

  • Tim Ennis

    MEMBER OF THE BOARD

    Tim Ennis spent 25 years as a successful personal fitness trainer, helping individuals, groups, and teams reach their goals in health, fitness, and nutrition. He has worked with people of all ages and all levels of fitness, including special needs and handicapped people.

    Tim’s daughter is dyslexic and attends a private school that empowers students with language-based learning differences. The focus at her school is to equip each student with the learning strategies necessary to achieve success in high school and into the future. Tim manages a boutique Napa winery and owns a Napa concierge business.

    Through his dedication to helping people and continued involvement in the community, Tim hopes to help increase local awareness, involvement, and support for Moving Forward.

  • Daphne O'Regan

    MEMBER OF THE BOARD

    Daphne O'Regan has two sons, one of whom has been at Moving Forward for eight years.

    She grew up in Berkeley and currently is a clinical law professor at Michigan State University. She has a J.D. from Michigan State University College of Law and an M.A. and Ph.D. from Cornell University. She is co-founder and founding board member of Lansing Inclusive Communities, Inc., an organization serving developmentally disabled adults and their families in the area of Lansing, Michigan.

    She served on the East Lansing School Board for four years and on the East Lansing Transportation Commission.

    I enjoy hiking, traveling, singing, playing my cello, reading, gardening, and being with my beloved friends and family.

  • Serena Williams

    MEMBER OF THE BOARD

    Serena graduated from Yale University with a B.A. in Organizational Behavior, Economics and Psychology. She also holds a Masters in Organization Development from Bowling Green State University.

    Serena’s career spans corporate executive leadership roles in Marketing and Sales, as well as 10+ years in consulting.

    Serena has served on numerous non-profit boards, including as Vice-Chairman of the United Way of

    Greater Toledo, Chairman of the Marketing Committee at the Toledo Symphony, and head of the marketing and strategic planning committees of the Toledo Opera.

    Originally from New York City, Serena and her husband Tom lived in Ohio for 20+ years before moving to Napa 3.5 years ago. They have two adult sons, Hunter and Charlie, who both live in New York.

    In her free time, Serena enjoys hiking, fly-fishing, skiing and spending time with family and friends.

  • Jamie Thompson

    MEMBER OF THE BOARD

    Jamie graduated from UCSB with a B.A. in Cultural Anthropology and Environmental Studies. She also holds a Masters in Public Administration from Sonoma State University. Jamie’s career spans nonprofit executive leadership roles in vocational rehabilitation, as well as a lifetime of experience supporting the disabled community in the Bay Area.

    Jamie has served on committees in public policy for North Bay Regional Center, California Disability Services Association, and the American Society of Public Administration.

    Jamie was born and raised in Sonoma County and currently resides in Santa Rosa with her husband Will, their two children Camilla and Naomi, and her many pet chickens.

    In her free time, Jamie enjoys painting, hiking, and spending time at the beach with her family.

  • Sue Samuel

    MEMBER OF THE BOARD

    Sue Samuel is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with over 20 years of experience, currently serving a school district in Granite Bay, where she oversees programs across seven schools. She attended UC Davis for her bachelors degree and Arizona State for her masters in Applied Behavior Analysis.

    Sue owned her own ABA company in New Orleans and also co-owned a school for special needs children. Sue previously sat on the board of a charter school and currently sits on the board for Pathways To Employment which is an organization that believes everyone is employable. She is a Special Olympics tennis and soccer coach and runs a soccer group for adults with disabilities called Soccer Sundays. Additionally, she co-founded Future For Our Kids and the Disability Housing Alliance to help parents, caregivers and advocates network with each other and regional centers and state agencies in order to secure services to help their adults be independent.

    Sue is the proud parent to Dylan, in Tier 1 and his first year at Moving Forward and Jack, Dylan’s amazing older brother who lives in San Jose. Sue and her husband Jerry enjoy playing pickleball, hiking, cooking, paddleboarding and travel. As a behavior analyst it is rewarding to see Dylan’s skills generalize and watch him move forward to independence.
